Default overheating again

Stuck in Tucson, car started to overheat out of nowhere started to think maybe it was the thermostat, so I went and got a new one changed it and still the started to overheat, didnt think it would be my radiator or hoses since their brand new and their is no sign of leaking figured it could be the water pump going out.
what do you guys think?

Hi,
overheating is caused by:
Low coolant
blocked radiator or debris preventing air flow
thermostat stuck open/closed
failure of fan system
water pump leaking/no circulation
front air dam damaged/removed
improper timing
blown head gasket
lastly cracked heads/block
i would rule out most obvious and easiest checks first.......
Good luck and keep us posted on the solution.
Have a blessed day...........
Captain jim
PS: IF IT BURPING OUT..............THERMOSTAT

Did you bleed the coolant system? Mileage? Head gaskets ever been done? Take a peak under the oil cap, mine was running hot, threw a thermostat at it, things were good for a few days. Then it was hot again, gasket split on cyl. #7, motor was making the coolant disappear.

So did it over heat fairly soon after doing the radiator/hoses? I'm hoping it is just air pockets for your sanity.

i haven't bleed the coolant since I did the radiator which was in november
and yeah I was driving the next day it went all the way up on the meter and then dropped back all the way back to normal the day after doing the radiator and hoses.
as far as head gaskets wouldnt i be seeing smoke coming out of the engine?

If it went up and then came back down then you probably have air in your system. It will smoke once coolant gets into your combustion chambers. Could be leaking elsewhere.

More than likely though it is air in the system from what you are saying with it going up and down. Bleed it and see what happens. Usually once you bleed it you will find out it is low on coolant also. Happens every time after I've had to refill the coolant for whatever reasons, I crack the bleeders and hear the air escaping, level in radiator drops by half.

If it is a bad headgasket, but the heads are flat when you pull them, you are looking at $250 for head/intake gaskets and a new waterpump. Its not too bad.
