Question why did you go with the custom harness if the LS harness you posted only cost 200$??

Will you be losing ABS and airbags?? which is what ppl keep telling me an LT1 car loses if we try to swap to an LS engine.

Personally I think it doesnt get any better than LT1 bodies with an LS engine!!
great work.
Thanks!!

Well you can get a factory LS1 harness for $200 and then you have to take it apart and rewire some of it for the LS1 to LT1 stuff to work...

HOWEVER I am wiring retard and for some reason wiring this stuff just baffels me... So I bought a completely custom standalone harness that is show wrapped in mesh and looks really nice... But it looks like they may have dropped the ball on some of the lt1 connectors so I have to go back through and double check their work...

I am not running ABS or Airbags... I am honestly not sure if it is possible to keep them...Maybe The_Merv could be some help on this...

Yea I think the LT1 body with LSx power is the best solution to the opti spark..lol

Then again they werent tested against painted coils..

Ya hit me up if need some help..
Oh ok I will look into them as I need all the help I can get! maybe some truck coils painted red!!

This damn wiring is killing me! I paid a place $500 to build me a harness and now that I have received it lets just say I question some of the lt1 to ls1 connectors....

So the rumors are true? Ls swap = no abs or airbags....

What is the problem? Anyone running a solution at all?

Or is there a special harness or rigging we can ran? What is the problem? Why do a lot of converts not retain those 2 functions? I've been warned several times about it. And keep getting mixed info on wether or not an LT1 can still retain both of those functioning.

OK!! So I have been REALLY busy! Between finals, family and work I have been non stop...

I finally got to work on the car some more and here are some update pics...

I got my dual springs and retainers installed...
Ran all new brakes lines for the front since the old lines looked like crap against the Tubular K member...
Got the Manual rack installed and the extra safety support welded..
Dropped the motor in today and all seems to fit good..
The Fast Intake is a CLOSE fit I literally have maybe 1/4 inch between it and the fire wall.....

I also made a custom LS3 throttle cable bracket....

I am waiting on the converter to come back and to get my harness ordeal figured out and I will have everything here to fire it up....

Don't mind how dirty it is..lol and the dash pad is out getting painted and flamed to match the hood...

Matt

LOL I try not to think about it... I have done a lot extra on this build that I really didn't NEED too....

Extras like
Shaving and painting engine bay
Manual steering rack
Tubular K member
All new brake lines
Tubular A arms
Spohn Drag Bar
Powder coating
ALL stainless hardware...etc

But with everything I have done and bought since I pulled the LT out I have spent ~9k

Looks great bro and thanks for the estimate, ive been saving for a year now and I only managed to save 5,125 for my car I wanted to go turbo LT1 but im a little scared about having issues like most ppl high rpm miss, switching over to ls1 pcm etc, so I stopped posting for awhile about what mods to do. As soon as I reach 15k I will start asking you for LS1 advice and ill just put my lt1 inside my 86notchback
