But a LT5 is ALOT closer to a LS1..bore & stroke is damn near identical, aswell as the block Water Jacket design.

Basically what I was trying to say was that I believe the LS1 had been based off the LT5 more than the LT1/4.

I agree the lt was nice, but compared to the ls series there are so many better changes, the oil system to the way the motor seals up and oil pan design is way better

We shouldnt hate on each other lol cant we all get along. Why do lt1 and ls1 owners
hate each other? Dont get the point ?
Everytime i see an ls1 owner i get a mad look, like if a was dirving a stang lol. whats up with people these days .

I care, not about what you have, but what I have.
Mod for mod, and stock, tell me the winner out of all these things.

Gas mileage.
Power.
Reliability.
Engineering.
Ease of maintenance/repairs/building.
Aftermarket.
Appearance.
Adaptability.
Availability.

Now tell me which engine you chose and why.

Yep the best thing about the LT was trying to run a real header, the ls had the better idea

I love my LT1 because I have more low end ***** than an LS1. Its the way is sets you back in the seat. I love it. On top of that, the sound is unmatched! That deep rumble that turns heads everywhere!

Of course an LS engine is better. No denying it. But like they already said...I see LS cars everywhere. Everyone seems to have them...LT cars not so much! ESPECIALLY well built LT cars. Plus, it is more impressive to me to put down 400+ RWHP in an LT1 than it is an LS1. You dont even have to really try with an LS, just throw on some headers, exhaust, intake, and a donkey dick cam and you will have 405 RWHP.......You dont even really have to research it. With an LT1 you have to build it right and do some research if your going to break 400 N/A to the wheels. And for the record this statement DOES NOT include maxing out the block, stroking, etc etc etc.

I respect LS1's and I acknowledge that they are superior, but I LOVE the look on an LS guys face when I pull away from him from a 40 roll, or when I rape him out the hole and keep pulling on the top. They dont expect it because they see the LT1 as an underdog...they underestimate me and I take advantage of it and leave them behind to pick their jaw up off the floor, gather their shattered pride, and catch up to me.

Just sayin lol

For one, you just showed your ignorance...I was waiting for someone to try and call me out for a 13.1, THANK YOU for falling right into that...Next time READ!!!

If you notice it says "DA OF 9400 AT BANDIMERE"

Now let me educate you cause apparently you don't know what that means..........that means it was the equivalent of my car racing at an altitude of 9,400ft! You come up here and tell me how your car does...I would LOVE to see that.......

SECOND...a 2.2 60ft with street tires...hmmmmm...lets do the math....when I get my 1.6 60ft...notice I said WHEN...that is 7 TENTHS off the time which would drop that 13.1 @ 110 to a 12.4....12.4, let that sink in real fast....................................ok now that you have the math figured out, bring that down to sea level where my car can actually BREATHE cause you know air is kindof important, and that time will jump AT LEAST a full second from a 9400 DA. Where does that put me OH YEAH, THAT'S RIGHT...

11.4 Seconds in the 1/4 mile NATURALLY ASPIRATED!

Good call though on the slow time, that was SPOT ON!

okay sure no prob.

gas mileage-draw

Power-ls1 and response better to mods.

Reliability-lt1 iron block.

Engineering-ls1 better engine overall and higher top end torque.

Ease of maintenance/repairs/building-ls1 . lt1 had water pump above opti which sucks and engine bay is cramped with no room to work with.

Aftermarket-ls1 more aftermaket parts.

Appearance-lt1 thats my opinion not a fact.

Availability-dont know what yo mean by availability.

i would prefer either one i dont really care.

anyways i have an lt1 and it seems to me you do too? so whats your point? And no im not hating on ls1s.

Some of you guys are confusing. Is this thread about 2 different engines or the cars in general? Make up your minds.

You apparently have yet to grasp the concept, "Work smarter, not harder".

Usually its the slower ones that are the most defensive.

Most of the quick guys realize that its expensive to go fast no matter what, and either engine will get the job done with enough dough and the right parts.

It's not even worth arguing about, you can't fix stupid .
