Bent 2 Rods in my LT1 Stroker.. WHY
Hey I just finished up my stroked lt1 383.. I have a xfi292 cam (584 lift, 292 dur.) I had my stock heads ported and a custom valve grind.. Still using stock springs and push rods.. wondering if the shop who did it did them a little to tight or what.. i know your thinking thats to much lift on stock springs but the tested out at over 600 before coil bind, but does the duration matter.. need to get this fixed tonight.. just wondering if anyone had any opinions on what happend?

1st of all stock PUSHRODS or CONNECTING RODS?
2nd STOCK valve springs? Are you ******* serious?
3rd I would either set fire to it or take it to a qualified shop. Im afraid its doomed with you and your "shop" working on it.
Seriously WTF is wrong with people

I was going to upgrade the heads when I got some more cash and just run those for now.. had springs checked out n they diddent coil bind till 630, diddent have the dur. checked because i diddent know that matterd.. the other 13 are doing good lol

Yeah they didn't coil bind til .630, but they have totally inadequate pressure to control a big roller cam that aggressively launches the lifter up. Go get some 918 behives, and while you are at it get some chromoly pushrods before you snap the tips off of some of them.

coil bind and spring pressure are 2 different things ,, its not how much lift your cam makes its how much pressure the spring has to be (open) to control the valve ,, .600 lift needs at least 370-380lbs open (n/a) in my opinion...

you'll need 7 degree locks too, there are many choices

its hard to say what pushrod length you need ,, if the stock length pushrod worked then use that length in a hardened ,, judging by the way your doin things its probably not gonna be running very long so geometry doesnt really matter...,
