high torque at lower RPM LT1
I am building a LT1 for an airboat and was wondering if anyone had any advice for a cam and whats needed to make the most torque at the lowest RPMs?

RPM depends on if I run a gear reduction unit or go direct drive on the prop. With a gear reduction and a carbon fiber prop, I have to stay under 3K prop speed. Most common reduction is 2:1.
What is a L98 is that a vortec truck motor? I already have a complete LT1 from my TA sitting on the floor.

L98 is a 3rd gen motor, google and you'll see the radical intake manifold difference. You'll still only be on the 4th harmonic, but MUCH better than the LT1. Pulse tuning will be an important factor when you're trying to maximize horsepower (torque) in that 3000 rpm range. Only thing saving the LT1 intake down there is the relatively small plenum volume and decent cylinder heads.

comps answer to the crane 227 is the xfi 465. Makes GOBS of torque down low and only spins to 5800. I knoiw thats astrecth form 3k but I believe it hist peak torque @ 2500 or so. It has been awhile since I looked at that but I often recommend this cam for those not looking to soin too high and those looking for lots of grunt.

no its not bert. at low rpm its about achieving maximum cylinder pressure. you're not going to get that with an lt1 intake and a 112lsa, the pressure differential around TDC needs to be maximized not minimized.
