Default did a dumb thing. Need help

Well i was just finishing up some wiring and buttoning up my LT1 and yep, I forgot all about that damn coolant tube that runs from the back of the heads to the radiator.
Here is the problem. I put my HEADS ON BACKWARDS!!! Now, i know they are symmetrical so that's not the problem. The problem lies that I have to now take the plugs out of the back of the heads and move them to the front. Now i know its a 3/8 ratchet size and i can get my hand back there but i have broken off the stub of my ratchet on BOTH sides. ARGHHH! My question is, do I really need this stupid thing or do I have to take my heads off and switch them. keep in mind I headers are all bolted up too.
PLEASE HELP!
John

I believe either one or both of the passages are blocked by the coil and accessory bracket. Yes, you do need to run it. Since the LT1 is reversed cooled the piping is there to let steam escape, alleviating any air pockets w/in the coolant passages of the heads.

Running the steam pipes from the front will not work that well, our motors are tilted back a bit so there will be air pockets up front.
Its not that bad of a job, you may be able to remove the plugs from underneath the car with swivel extensions.

If you can't get the plugs out of the back, then I guess you know what you have to do... Those plugs can be difficult to remove. It sucks when you make an error like that.

Also, there is anothe post about replacing the stock banjo bolt and steam pipes with AN plumbing lines. I wish I had that info when I had the heads off but plan on doing it next time.

As I recall, it's less difficult to get to them with the intake manifold off the engine.

When I picked up my engine the retard didn't listen to me when I said the open holes go in the back so I had to do the same damn thing. Broke everything I stuck in those plugs. Problem is they are steel plugs and the heads are aluminum so years of electrolysis cements them so tight in there it's like they are welded in there. I had to buy another set of head gaskets and remove the heads cuz I never did get those plugs out.
