Default 96 lt1 Z28 , warms up then turns off.

Buddy has a 96 Z28 that starts but after 15mind or so of running turns off. But will restart after it cools down and do it again. Any ideas on what the problem is? He replaced fuel pump already and has new plugs and wires. Thanks.

ignition control module, that little box thats connected to the coil. seems to be common when it overheats.

+1

Either do the ICM cooling spacer mod or get a new one, and do the mod on that to prevent future failures.

Try a different coil and see what happens..they are $22....my ICM went out recently and somehow fried my MSD coil ....so the mechanic swapped it out for a spare coil and it worked fine.

This was when my opti went. Are you getting any trouble codes?
Not saying just go ahead and spend all that time and money replacing it but if the other ignition components dont pan out, ICM, coil ect then I'd look there. Make sure autozone test the icm at least 5 or 6 times if you have them test it.

I would verify fuel pressure before throwing any more parts at it
