Its possible, but will take a lot weight reduction in a 4th gen, and of course a power adder.

A guy on this site who posts pretty frequently has an LT1 powered white 3rd gen in the 9's, stock shortblock. Forgot the name off the top of my head...

**edit** His name is vtec.

Shouldn't be hard with a power adder.

Power, weight, traction.

Tubular front end, probably look at Burkart Chassis for their lightweight spindles and brake setups. Will need Nitrous, supercharger, or turbo. Gonna need some drag slicks. Delete stuff like ABS and AC. Strip interior. Possibly even go with fiberglass panels.

Mine will be there at sea level, or I'll burn it.

I'm hoping to get into the 9's w/ stock bottom end. So far, 10.4@130 on a 150 shot. Just gotta get it running and more tuning.

Jeremy is on a stock short block, not a 355. 9.44@139

Lol Puck said stock short block in his reply.

I just pm'd vtec about intakes. I'm thinking single plane + DP + solid roller might be next for me. We will see how the turd does with this setup though.

I will have "shakedown" pass info on Saturday. Bit its going to be on a very mild shot with stock as stock suspension.

If you look at the times sticky theres a guy that went 9.3 on a 355 with a 300 shot. I believe that was the fastest 355 in the sticky. I am picking up a stock short block this weekend that i plan on building into a 355 with a big shot.

My 355 thrust bearing went out before I could go 10's with it but it def would have.... It ran 10.40@131 with the 150 shot... We had planned 150 lb weight reduction and another 75 hp to the nitrous kit cause the motor was built for a 250 shot.....

Never got that far however... but it would have gone 9's.... hydro roller cam.... 236/242....
