383 Stroker Oil Pan
So I overlooked my oil pan on me new stroker build. Got it all together, got it running, and heard a light tick from the bottom of the motor. Diagnosed it as the crank barely clipping the edges of the oil pan...I forgot to get a pan that was clearanced for a stroker motor.
SO, what pan is the best for this? Moroso, Canton? What else do I need with it? Pickup Tube?
Anyone have these for sale cheap? lol

You can beat a stock pan out easily for 3.75" stroke. I really wouldn't get a Canton, I have one and don't like it at all. However if you do some heavy braking in a stock pan you'll starve the engine of oil if you don't have a accumulator.

Quality seems to be very hit-or-miss with the Canton so I can't really recommend it either...Mine fits perfect and clears my 383, but a bunch of people have had issues with it. I don't know if some get warped during welding or what, but its definitely rolling the dice.
To make it worse, there are a couple revisions floating around.

Well I've heard great things from a few local people about the milodon pan.So I got pn#30909 along with there hd pickup pn#18316 for about $350.Fit was great but can't tell you about seal yet as motor is going on dyno Thursday. Now this pan doesn't have provision for oil level sensor FYI.Fits up to a 4inch stroke.

Milodon #30909 will clear a 4" stroke crank, and holds an extra quart of oil. Has a nice deep sump that angles out and still offers good ground clearance. Has a built in windage tray. Fits like a glove too.

You will probably need a new oil pump pickup to extend that far though. The pan is a little deeper. This one will work:

you can buy an aftermarket pan but I run the stock one. I encourage you to run the stock windage tray. use either the 3 extended stock main studs or but the Miloden ones. You simply put 1/8" washers between the stock ones and the tray to space the windage tray for learance if using stock ones
as far as clearanceing the stock pan, for me, I just set the pan on a folded towel on my bench and with the big end of a wood baseball bat "pushed" from the inside where the witness mark was left by, in my case, # 2 rod bolt. Took 2 min at most and a few taps on the end of the bat to push the pan out slightly
