LT1SlowZ28's 383 Build Complete
Finally heres Dave (LT1SlowZ28's) 383 build thread start to finish.......
383ci
Eagle 4340 Crank
Scat 4340 H Beam's 6" with ARP 2000 bolts
SRP Pro Series Pistons (Flat top with modified steel ring package)
Moroso Blueprinted HV Oil Pump
Canton 242t
Cloyes Double Roller Chain
LE HR Cam and ported GM Heads (dave will have more info on these than me)
Harland Sharp 1.6 Rockers
Comp Chromoly Pushrods
Trick Flow Guideplates w/ARP Studs
LS7 Lifters
Here are the pics of the build, turned out to be one kick *** motor should make great power NA and run awesome on the bottle.....
Block all cleaned and clearanced for the bigger stroke and rods.....you can see the mods near the pan rails.....i also take some material off near the bottom of the cylinders to allow extra breathing room...
cam bearings from durabond....dont forget they all have specific places!!
eagle crank in the motor.....notice the splayed 4 bolt conversion with howards billet main caps....
connecting rods with pistons sized an installed....rod bearing clearances written on the side of every rod.......
assembled shortblock with cam on its way in....
cam in and degreed......arp pro series head studs on with cometic gaskets...
LE Heads installed and torqued to 65ft/lbs with moly lube....dont forget to rtv ALL your head studs and hand tight only!!.....Harland Sharp rockers installed with LS7 Lifters and trick flow guideplates held on with arp 3/8 studs
heres why a stock pan wont fit over splayed main caps......
canton 242t solution applied....
completed short of the intake ready to ship!!
all packed up on its way to dave!!
this motor was quite a challenge both myself and dave endured many shipping issues, and time delays including health issues before this was completed but in the end i was sad to see it go.....motor not only went together awesome it looks great!! dave you got one kick *** 383 on the way.....
also id like to say thanks to dave for being part of our countries military.......WE cant thank you enough for what you've done for us!!
ENJOY!!

Big thanks goes out to you Mike! Also, I would like to thank Lloyd for all the help with everything.
It's been one hell of a journey for this build, but in the end I am sure it won't disappoint even your high standards.

What kind of HP/torque do you think this thing will put out?
Do you think times like this would be possible on such a motor in a similar vehicle?

Mocked up the Magnaflow for the time being as open exhaust was unbearable to attempt to tune and drive with on the street.
slowly chasing some tuning issues and ignition gremlins, then going to attempt a singleplane conversion. Working on it little by little after work hours takes time.
All in all I am happy with the way it drives, took it for a spin today and it's pretty streetable. Again a big thanks goes out to quick95LT1 and Lloyd Elliott for the solid short block and Heads!
