Le2 guys - le 232/240 results
Just wondering what most people are putting down with this cam (or similar size) I've heard of people running smaller (under 230/230) cams making over 410 rwhp with LE2s and supporting mods, but I've not found much info on the bigger LE cams making as much power. Just weighing my options.

I asked him about that cam. Told him I wouldn't mind it on a lower lsa and he specs me something just a tiny weenie bit smaller on a 108 so that's what I'm gonna get. Email him and tell him what your wanting to do and hell hook you up.

If staying with the stock PCM, I suggest asking LE for the best he can do with a powerpeak no higher than 6500 rpm, and leave the cam numbers up to him.
For my setup, I asked to center the powerband around 6400, and they nailed it perfectly, still putting down a respectable 425 SAE through an A4. And I use every bit of of the PCM rpm limit to extract the best ET's out of it.

IMO there is something we aren't identifying as causes for opti failures, funky valvetrain harmonics or something putting added stress on the plastic rotor welds. With the number of us running stock optis to 7000rpm without issue and others having repeated issues it isn't a "hit or miss" on the optis, there is an additional cause at work.

Oh yeah, forgot to comment on the Opti issues.
I hope I don't jinx myself, but I still waiting on my first Opti failure, spinning the stock Opti with loctited screws to 7000 every time at the track. I'm thinking 160-180 passes over the past 3 years.
Idle thought here: I'm running the complete unmolested GM stock rotating assembly. Dwayne's comment about harmonics got me thinking........most people spinning high rpm are doing it with various rebuild combo's, with who-knows-what kind of balancing or degree of overbalancing/underbalancing. Maybe GM knows something we don't ???

If any opti were to spin to 7000rpm it would explode and take all the radiator hoses with it.
I am wondering if the hole in the snout of the cam could be the culprit. If it isn't drilled correctly it could lead to havoc especially at higher rpm.
