Default Skip 5-6 w/ Pro 5.0 and Adjustable Springs

Finally pulled the trigger on putting a shifter in my '97 WS6, went ahead and bought the Pro 5.0 on sale and picked up a Skip5-6.

The Skip5-6 is a nifty little device that locks out the 5-6 and Reverse gates on the shifter until you need those gears. It makes the T-56 work exactly like a 4-speed. WOO-HOO! No chance of ever missing 3rd again!

I also modified my Pro-5.0 to have adjustable spring pressure from the 1-2 gate back to center. This was to avoid the common practice of having to shim the shifter a zillion times to get the feel right.

Built the aluminum bracket for the set screw to adjust spring pressure

You can see the post that drops down between the shifter and the spring retainer plate. This physically locks out the farthest two gates to the right.

Question

Do you have a link to more information about that "Skip 5-6"?

Where did you buy it from? Cost?

And, how is it activated, (i.e. how do you get that pin/post to "drop down" and lock out 5-6 & reverse)? Twist the ring, or pull/push it? Also what locks that pin in position when it is activated?

Skip5-6 has a website (http://skip5-6.com/) with a video demonstration.

Its absolutely awesome BTW.

Pushing the ring down locks out 5-6, it cost $79 for the Pro 5.0 model and $64 for the B&M model and I bought it from Ebay.

I went WAYY above and beyond what I should have. The Skip5-6 was incredibly simple to install though.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone else used the Skip5-6? I looked around before I bought mine but only found other people asking the same question.

Always glad to be a pioneer!

I figured somebody else would've found this already. Either way I love mine.
