Default 1995 B4C Camaro Build

Hey everyone,

I've posted a couple times selling a few items, but I bought a project car that i'm planning on making a street/strip car. Going to do it in stages to see how the car is progressing rather than doing everything in once, going to start the upgrades with the suspension, I am working with my friends at BMR to get the perfect setup, from there I'll start adding more power and see how much the motor can take before it goes up in smoke along with some other parts. Heres some details about the car:

Its a 1995 Camaro B4C LT1 A4, has 190k miles on it now. When I bought it, it had 187k miles on it. It was taken off the force in 2005 at 180k miles. It sat in palmetto for 9 years only racked up 7k miles. It has a functional Ram Air hood and Ram Air intake, upgraded brakes (not sure the brand). It does leak a little oil from the top (looks like valve covers) so i'm replacing those. Other than that the car runs great! Heres a couple pictures:

This will probably be a longer build but I'll keep it updated, I plan using the car as my daily for a while. Plus I think it adds a little bit more to build, basing it off a daily driver car. I will be needing some help when I start working on the motor. I've been reading through some of the articles and from the sounds of it the better cam I should go with is the Comp 468 and get a 2500 stall(?). Ive heard mix things about tuners and tuning, I was thinking about using TunerCats LT1 Pro tuning kit. Other than that I dont really know what I'm going to do for a power adder, seems like most of the kits are going to have to be a custom kit, except for the a procharger kit or nitrous. I'll keep everyone updated, im also welcoming any ideas!

Was it 'as is' when it was with the force?

I doubt it, the guy said he swapped out the tail lights for the Euro lights, the hood and intake he did, swapped the wheels and tires, repainted it and added the grand sport stripes, I guess it was originally green according to the title. He wasnt too informative and I dont think he really knew it was a police car.

Well after driving it for a week the water pump gave out. I guess I should of seen it coming haha. starting taking it apart and since I had everything apart I'm going to change the intake manifold gaskets, throttle body gasket, valve cover gaskets and clean everything up. Probably going to have to replace the opti, havent taken the pump off yet, ran out of time once I got the throttle body off. Took a couple pictures of the throttle body before I clean it tomorrow and get everything replaced, cleaned and put together.

A little update of the weekend, still in the process of cleaning the parts off. As you can imagine they were fairly clogged and filled with grime, grease and what ever else it may of collected in its 200k miles adventure. Here's some pictures of what was taken off including the water pump.

Hey everyone,

Ok so I need some help, haven't had much feedback on the thread but I got the water pump installed and everything hooked back up to find the car will not start. It cranks but it is not running. I did a test to see if I had spspark to the plugs and I didnt. So I ended up taking it all back off and replaced the opti that was on it for a new ACDelco unit. Get everything back and installed and it does the samething. Still no spark. I can't imagine it's the coil or icm because it was running before all of this. Any suggestions?

Damn man that bites. I would check all the cables and grounds that you took off. After double checking that I would go HERE and look for the coil and icm test to check them off your list of issues.

Its also not that uncommon to get a opti thats DOA. Pull the cover and check to make sure everythings kosher.

As stated above, check and double check all of your wiring and grounds! The Coil has ground wires where it mounts, and it's very easy to miss the optical cable from the opti to the coil. (just knocked mine off putting the steering shaft back in causing a no start for a few minutes) Use Shbox's site and you should have it figured out in no time.
