What Exhaust should I buy for a LT1?
What exhaust to buy for my 1995 firehawk LT1? I'm interested in SLP Loudmouth exhaust or Magnaflow catback. I can not find any sound clips for a LT1. The only sound cipls I find are for LS1 at the LS1 sounds.com
I want to hear exhaust options for a LT1. I have stock manifolds with SLP 3 inch Y-pipe with stock cat with 3 inch exhaust pipe all the way to the back of the car with stock SLP firehawk Exhaust with dual tips that exists on Driver's side only. I want to install a good catback system but undecided at this point. Need more info on Catback system for LT1. I want to hear catback system before I buy one. Which one should I buy threre many Catback systems out there like corsa. borla, dynomax, edelbrock. Please Help. Thanks

I've only heard Corsa exhaust on a LS1, but OMG it was sex in its purest form! I have Borla on my LT1, and it sounds awesome. Everyone always tells me how good my car sounds. I run it with the wide open plate. And I've heard Hooker catbacks, and they sound great IMO on LT1's, plus they're dirt cheap. The only thing i dont like about the Hooker catbacks is the tips that come with it, but for ~350 dollars beggars cant be choosers i guess.

If you have the optional 3-inch SLP exhaust that came on the Firehawk, you won't really see any performance gains switching to another catback. For the money, I'd say go with Hooker. It's shown to be a very free flowing system and is cheaper.
But you could consider a cutout. I recently installed a DMH electric cutout and it's an awesome piece. The cutout would probably give you a few ponies over the stock exhaust.

If you have the slp 2 out the left that is one of the best flowing catbacks there is. If you did change it i dont think you would see any gains at all, just sound different. Just my 02 though.

I have borla and I like it. You can hear my car at ls1sounds.com, and yes its an lt1. Click on borla, and it will say 383 FLP's. 240/240 cam..I think its the second one...

I agree I just recently heard 2otl catback with LT and ORY on a LT1. Sounded alot better than my LT,ORY, and hooker catback on my ls1. Although i have a friend that just has a hooker catback on his LT1 and it sounds awesome for just a catback. I do not know about everyone else but I think that the lt1's have much better sound than the LS!'s. I believe that it is gmmg's website that has a sound clip of a gmmg on a lt1. I can not remember for sure were I saw it but the GMMG on a LT1 sounds awesome. It was the sound that made it hard to go to sleep at night because of thinking of how I can get that sound on my LS1, or at least how I would manage to afford a GMMG.
When you make a decision make sure to post your sound clips at ls1sounds so we all can hear.

I had Borla on my car and it was amazing. It sounded a lot different than other LT1 cars. I also had long tubes and an offroad y-pipe, the car screamed though. Espicially when the cam was in it sounded amazing. If you don't go with Borla I would say GMMG or true duals for sure.
