Has anyone found pros and cons with vigilant tc's?? that's who my eyes were on.

It is true that the M6 is a little annoying when in heavy traffic especially on our local cruise night every August, holding and letting out the clutch hurts your foot after awhile, but I still prefer it over the A4.

It does, I mean my Firehawk is an auto so I really cant talk. But the next F-body I buy will most definitely be a 6 speed. More than likely next season when I get the H/C on the Hawk and finish up what I wanted to do with that (Just a full bolt ons/full suspension/H/C Firehawk that is still daily driveable making 400+rwhp and running high 11s).
Next car might be a little more extreme than that, but I have no solid idea yet...

This is a good thread to read for someone whose considering one of these cars. Thanks to pretty much everyone who posted; helped a lot.
Think i'd prefer a m6 for the all around 'more fun to drive' factor; but, when shopping (at least for me,) in the end its going to come down to which car is the cleanest of the bunch you're looking at.

I had it saved somewhere on my computer, I will see if I can find it for you...
Its not too complicated Bad Tx, hardest part will be getting the tranny out... Cutting the holes for the shifter/mounting the pedals is pie.

Look its a hydraulic clutch, no biggie. I got in a 64 Vette the other day, now there was a interesting clutch pedal. I didn't drive it, I still haven't driven anything with a mechanical linkage, but man did that thing feel weird to me.
I had a V6 five speed third gen, I think that was more fun to drive than the heads/(cam?) 350/700R4 83 Z28 I replaced it with. Got rid of it for the 94 with the t56, no regrets.

But muscle cars are supposed to be aggressive looking, loud, mid size or bigger, big motor, back seat, affordable price tag and ideal for straight line performance. That sounds like an F-body which can come with an auto or a manual transmission. And in drag racing applications the auto is often preferred.
Finally the auto also has the advantage of two shifts at the track vs the manuals three shifts. This is significant at the top end of the track when M6's have to shift the third time and the auto doesn't.
Watch this vid. This is on a stock GM 10 bolt BTW (don't try this with a M6). Notice how fast and sharp the two shifts are. It's hard to duplicate that with a manual even when powershifting.

But for a street car that rarely or never goes to the track I say M6 all the way. May as well take advantage of better MPG, better roll racing ability and more HP to the wheels.
