Default ses light after converter install

Spent the past 4 days doin my torque converter install. Got it all done, been checking the tranny fluid, everything seems to be running good. However, cars been throwing some codes. It started that night, did a p0100, which turned out to be a blown fuse. In addition is did a P0719 Brake Switch Circuit - Low Input . Cleared the code, and it hasn't come back. I'm not sure what to do about that one. Also, it just did p0137 and p0157, both the o2 sensors. I'm wondering why this would happen, I know the one in bank two has been bad for awhile, and has been settin the SES light occationally. But it just did both codes today. It also did a p1870 Transmission Component Slipping. What could cause this slipping. Could the converter be bad? Is this common when you put in a new converter, could the PCM just be misreading the slipping? Thanks.

That sounds almost like you have piched the wiring harnnes when you installed the tranny. That would explain the MAF code since it runs off the "engine sensors" fuse, just like the 02 sensors do. That harnnes is probably pinched in te bellhousing and causeing your troubles. I would check that over REALLY well.

Car did the p0100 and p187 and p157 codes again. It didn't blow the fuse this time, so I'm wondering what it could be. On the way to work yesterday after I had cleared the codes, it did hesitation / stutter thing it did when it throws all 3 of those codes, but instead of just driving fine after, it started to studder and hesitate pretty bad, so I turned around and drove it back home. Car almost would die on me off the line and i'm wondering if it would be my MAF, or should i replace my o2's.

Heh, I'm still wondering why I HAVEN'T thrown an SES light after my LT headers went in. How long would it take for the computer to realize I don't have the rear O2's on? I don't want to hijack this thread

It's too much of a coincidence that the 3 sensors on the same cuircut are setiing codes. What did you find with the wiring harness? The wires could be burning on the headers as well.

I didn't see anything with the wiring harness. And its my rear o2's, so the headers can't burn them. THIS IS SO ANNOYING!

Jacked the car up again, and found out that the wiring harness had been hittin the passenger side header, just like you said . So, whast my plan of attack from here, it started the melt the black plastic around it, it has about 3 spots it was hitting, 2 look fine, but 1 has melted through to the 2 wires, you can see the two colors, green and red i think, don't remember from 2 seconds ago, hehe, but it doesn't look like it burned all the way through. What can I do to fix this?

what you can do is dissconnect all the sensors and then pull the entire harnnes up as far out of the engine compartment as you can. This way you can get to it better. Dissasemble as much as you can. if any wires are actialy broken you have to solder them to repair them. You can't use any form of splice or butt connector on 02 wires. If they are not totaly broken just seperate them and tape them up really well with electrical tape. I would then wrap everything REALLY well in some adhesive heat tape before putting everything back togther.

The wires that I found that were burned, were just the ones on the passenger side o2. I see there are 4 wires goin through it, and just the bottom two were slightly melted, so I'm gonna electrical tape em up. What about the other o2, why would it be throwing that code, i traced the wires and none of them were melted. Thanks.

I Would wait and see what happens after you make the repairs and clear the codes. It will be easier to find the answers once you have eliminated the main soruce of trouble.

Thanks anyways blind, but I don't think i'll need them now. I drove the car around a lot since about 4 today, and it didn't throw a code or stutter or anything. I think that was the problem

OBD2 cars are known to throw that tranny slipping code with a stall. Get it deleted out.
