Default LT1s and O2 sensors...

i hate them both.. i need more beer!!!

but anyways, if one (or all) of the o2 sensor wires rubs up a lil on my header can that fry the sensor? because i individually taped over the burn parts on 3 of the 4 wires (the ground didnt apear to be burned), re routed the wire away from the headers and its STILL throwing the code.. and BOTH o2 sensors are only a week old.. i also threw some weird MAF sensor code.. its DTC 48...

and one more thing.. if it says i right oxygen sensor (bank 1) that means passenger side right? i hate computers... on with the carbeurator

i dont THINK it will fry a sensor ..... get up under the car and make absolutely SURE the things aren't touching the wires..... i recently purchased some high-temp sleeving for my spark plug wires and had one left over, so i'm going to buy an o2 sensor extension and take the plastic harness cover off and try to put the sleeving over the wires...

just some food for thought

haha, i hate the so much more than you, i had to take both headers off because they both striped when i tryed to take them out. i about bught LT since i already had the olds one out. the bastards and the heat might of fried the wires, it just happent to my air intake tep sensor, the wire got so hot it broke in half.

Bank 1 drivers side, cylinders 1,3,5,7

Passenger side is bank 1. Try swapping your sensors around and see if doesn't say bank 2 next time. That would definitely isolate your problem. Also another thought but may be totally off the scheme of things but perhaps your MAF is bad and is causing your O2s to mess up. Was it throwing the MAF code previous to the O2 swap? For example, when I was playing with speed density, I had my MAF disabled so there was no code but my bank 1 was terribly lean. I changed it back to MAF mode and bank one functioned normally. Very odd.

I had uncoated headers and I never burnt a plug wire...or the o2's for that matter. So I'd have to go with no...I don't think it would fry an o2

Bank 1 Is drivers side... and while were on the topic of 02's what are some good replacement 02's for LT1's? i know the LS1 guys use a corvette Rear sensor for there increased wattage when installing LT's, but what do us LT1 guys got for performance wise??
