Take your time, label the electrical connections on the intake manifold, for ease of re-installation. Make sure to let the coolant drain out as much as possible so you dont leak a lot on the opti, and cover the opti with something when you're pulling off the w/p. Now is a good time to also do the AIR! mod. Let's see, also, loosen as many bolts of the oil pan as possible to get it to drop a bit so you can take off the timing cover w/o ripping the oil pan gasket. Last tip, when you're pulling the hub off, you are going to take the bolt out of the crank, put in a smaller diameter bolt that is long enough to bottom out against the crank's bolt hole, and with a big enough head to allow the puller's pin to push against it. I've had great success with big allen bolts.

i hope you were planning on doing new springs too, id also think about lifters depending on the mileage, check the pushrods, and also the lifters, either put on new 1.5 or upgrade to 1.6 rr's.

oh yeah i am doing it right. i'm putting the springs, retainers, and locks that comp recomends with that cam, and i cant put 1.6's in, comp said i would have problem with to much lift. It didnt seem right but they said it would perform better with 1.5's cause thats what it was designed for.

the only thing i think that might be a problem with the 1.6's would be it might change the piston to valve clearance but i was told that even with my flat top pistons and stock heads i could still run the 1.6's with that cam but like i said im looking to go bigger on stock heads get them worked on a bit but see how far i can go, looking with my 1.6's around a 238/242 duration and .585/.590 lift and whatever LSA would be good for high compresion and spray trying to go stock heads just to see how far i can push them then either LE or AFR heads

Do you need to do any valvecover clearance w/ the 1.6's? Asking because my buddy told me he's going to have to when he gets the LE2 package, is this true? Sorry to hijack the thread.

no the part number is 986-16 on those springs. the stock valve spring size is right at 1.5, and these springs are like 1.4 somethin, so unless im wrong, i dont need any head work done to make these work correctly
