Default Anyone use pacesetter headers?

My friend is trying to talk me into doing headers on his car. He has headers on there now, no clue what kind, but bottomed out the car and bent them all up to the point of where they won't stop leaking off the heads. And since they're rusting and all anyways, he bought some new ones.
Anyways, just wondering how Pacesetters work on LT1's bc im more of an ls1 fan, lol.

No body uses those headers at all! Yes people use them and just like with any product there have been mixed reviews but from what I have seen lately they are better then they used to be and people are happy with them.

95% of the people who have Pacesetters say they are good headers.
Just get coated headers if its your daily driver.

People say they are bang for the buck, but $500-$600 is a nice chunk.

MANY people who use this site use sport Pacesetter headers. Search this LT1 forum, and within the next page or two you should find many threads several pages long about which headers are good.

I'll tell you right now, do not get shorties.

They are nice headers, mine have never scraped the ground (the Y and the I pipes are another story), but I'm like the ghost of Jacob Marley "save up for stainless, Scrooge." lol.

The Shorties are pieces of crap, mine were junk and went in the dumpster...

I should qualify my earlier post a little more.

I like them a lot.

They bolted up pretty easily. I had the car about a foot and a half in the air on jackstands in the front and ramps under the back tires.
I dropped the starter, pulled the alternator, and had to loosen the motor mount bolts and lift the engine a little to get the passenger side header to bolt up.
I only had to pull the steering link from the driver's side to get that header bolted up.

I used the header bolts, paper gaskets, and the wire crimp 02 extenders even though everybody said they were junk- no leaks in 2 years.

Minor Snags:

I got a set when they first came out. The first set had a 1/4" blow through hole in one of the driver's side primaries where it welds to the flange. They told me to send the header back so I did that. They sent me back a second set of 2 headers. I had an extra passenger side header and an extra set of hardware, gaskets, wires, and so on.

I got mine before they had the Y-pipe out, so I made one with my own three hands.
I snagged a couple universal cats and used the extra wire (4 feet?) from the first set of headers to run to the back O2 sensors- no SES lights in 2 years and passes PA emissions even though everybody tells me eventually it will screw up somehow. lol.

I have Pacesetter LT's, and they are awesome. I paid $425 for mine. No clearance issues, and installation wasn't so bad. Don't waste your time with Shorties. They really don't help with increasing power. Make sure they are coated too. They will keep the engine bay cooler, and they just look damn nice too.

in stall took me an a friend like 11 hours, but no1 ever said it was easy lol. i like them for the money and only advice i can give it like most people will say, dont use their gasket, saveurself the trouble of having to swap it and just a good gasket 1st, either mr. gasket or felpro.
