Ok so my car is the weirdest I have ever seen! It acts like this alot Im thinking theres a short or maby its computer related.
Runs fine as long as its cold. The vid is nearly 2 mins long of the same thing.

This it with the key on the whole time, listen to the fuel pump start piriming and keep priming. When it does this the injectors goes crazy and the tach goes insane as well.

haven`t you posted before on this problem and i think i posted an answered for you but i think your have opti problems but have your fuel pressure checked first your feul pump may be going out , it`s heating up went its running you can rent a fuel pressure guage to check it at advance

i didnt mean any harm by it...i know how bad it sux when your car wont run tip top...believe me 8 o reilley opti later i finally went adn got a gm one...guess they dont like 7000...and the high stall problem been plagueing me for almost a year and im just now hopefully getting it fixed....
youll figure it out but let us know what the ses light is...wouldent hurt to hook up and fp gauge real quick while this happens...

do you have any other problem with the car? when the fuel pump primes and that heppens its as if there might be a bad ground wire or power wire and something like the coil or tps isnt getting enough voltage...i had this problem with the ground on the drivers side of the motor to the frame i couldent even crank the car althought it appeared fine it smoked while cranking

You seem to have a problem causing issues with several systems. Driveability, ignition, gauges and the fuel pump prime circuit, if not more. Bad ground(s) cause problems like this. The speedo jumping up is normal when you gun it, due to inductance in the various harnesses. Check all your grounds, there are several. Get a Chilton book or something to locate all of them. In the second video, the radio comes on. Did you do that or did it do it on it's own? Also shown, the L/S valve cover has a PCV grommet with nothing in it. Do you have a false air problem further confusing the PCM? Is there a open vacum fitting somewhere? What codes are in the PCM? Hook up with a scanner and see what's stored. GOOD LUCK!!

i think you do have a ground problem..or a electrical issue, unfortunately it can take a long time to find.,..but id start with the basics including the cables from the batt to the started and gound to the block...i noticed now that the radio cam on when the car died and went off when u restarted....def electrical
done anything to your car lately?

FIRST off get the SES light checked right away.
Second, sounds and looks to me like it is either the fuel pump relay or your fuel pump.
The relay sounds like it is not kicking back off after it is primed. Have your pressure checked to determine the readings and if its the fuel pump.
Also see what voltage your tps is reading. it almost looks like its going bad also.

i also noticed your air bag light was on too.
i had a similar problem a few months ago,it ate me up it would run fine for 2-3 min then it would act as if the tps was bad,if you gave it 1/4 throttle it would not do anything if you push the pedal down just a tadd bitt more it would lauch the car after 1 full month of checkin and changin parts i had it at my friends muffler shop up in the air and foun 2 ground wires that were loose.oh and my cruise control would only work when it wanted too.i fixed the ground wires reset the pcm (obd2)let it sit for an hour then reconnected it it has been finr since.
i replaced:
1.crank sensor
2.TPS
3.IAC
4.Opti
5.ICM
6.coil
7.plugs(needed it anyway)
all that for a ground problem,$$$$

my car was doing almost the excat same thing the only differance was mine wouldnt restart. but the tach jumping and all that other funky **** was the same and it ended up being the the opti

I havent had a chance to get the scanner from work yet. I havent looked at it since I posted this. Im gonna bring the scanner home with me tommorow. Ill keep you posted.

in my old lt1 car when the last opti went out(6-7 opti's went bad)my guages went crazy and the car died.have you done and major mods like swapping heads,cam or intake and had to remove any grounds?the ground on the coil can break off easy.

this is an amazing thread, i have been having the same prob. with electrical on my Z, now after reading what all of u had to say im going to check every ground under the hood, and hopefully that fixes the prob. i have chiltons so hopefully that will come in to good use.
