Default a little help with a 160 thermostat?

i know what everyones gonna say..."go search" but all i came up with was info for an ls1. that being said. i need a write up or a few pointers on how to put in a 160 thermostat. the stat housing in right under the intake elbow correct? can i just pull the old one out and put the new one in or do i have to drain the fluid or anything like that? sorry if this is a dumb thread i just dont want to screw anything up or make a huge mess in my driveway. id like to get this done relatively soon cause im in the driveway and no one can move in or out. thanks in advance for any help. also, the sooner i get this put in the sooner i can load my madz28.tune.

You can just swap them out. The o-ring should already be on the thermostat. It's a real easy job. Leave the radiator cap on so it creates its own vacuum. It will leak out but stops soon, so cover the area with a towel and make sure it doesn't get around it

correct on the housing bein right below the intake you should just be able to take it off and put the new one in, might have a little fluid drain out. the 160 deg thermostat one of the best improvements for the money!

i finally found it on shbox.com but, thanks for all the help. i got another question though. how exactly do i bleed the system? at idle or when its off? i let it idle for quite a while and it doesnt overheat but, when i turned the car off i heard somethin i never heard before. it sounds like that annoying guy at the movies that insists on sucking on his straw even though theres no soda left. you know what im sayin? so im pretty sure theres an air pocket. but all in all it was real simple. thanks guys.

Make sure it has enough coolant, open the bleeder valve (see pic in link I put) until there it's a steady stream of fluid. Close valve, make sure fluid level is good, and you're done. Other than that just follow the steps

Yes, at idle. What makes you think you have air in there?

About an hour north of Sac. If you're on norcal-ls1.com we're having a big cruise down in the HWY 101 tomorrow
