if i were you, and i was going rebuild it, i would poke it out a little and put some parts in it. not a ton of parts but just a little something extra you know, since its gnna be wide open anyway.

what do you mean? Could you please elaborate? I like this rebuild kit because im going to be putting a CC502/306 cam in there and I thought it would be better to have all these new parts in there.

what r ur plans for the car? i think you should do the cam, but save up for a streetable 383 or 396. you also have to figure out what the compression ratio of those pistons are. summit has a kit like that for a few hundred cheaper, but the pistons are only 9.9:1. you will lose hp as the stock compression is 10.5:1. you will most likely have to have machine work done to the block also.

He means like forged slugs and a stroker kit. That's what I'd do anyway. It's more money, but hey, it's only money...

I like the kit that im looking at. the pistons are bored 60 over the guy at summit said. he said I wouldnt have to do any head work with that kit.

-I was looking for a 383 kit. Where would I look for those?
Where would I find a stroker kit? Also what are "slugs"?

pistons. Then you can use Nitrous, or at least have the option to. I guess you can with the ones in there, but I understand it's risky...

Where would I find a stroker kit? My question is on that kit, it would work nicely with just a cam right? Thanks

look in summit again. sealed power(another part of fel-pro) has a forged kit for an lt1 that runs $549.99 but with out connecting rods and crank but it runs 10.40:1 compression ratio. its just another option but do what you want. if it were me i would save the money, get a forged 383 kit, a set of heads like some lloyd 2's or 3's, and a good cam.

Yeah, it won't fit your engine.

Hi,

I can tell you a little information about the product you were looking for, because I am a Sales Representative at Super Auto Depot Inc.

Pistons are 10.5:1 stock compression using a stock head.

There is not a camshaft available for this kit, at least we do not sell one. Elgin Cams, Competition Cams, and a few others make the camshaft that will work great for the application.

Keep in mind, the engine rebuild kit at Super Auto Depot Inc. is only a stock engine replacement rebuild kit, and unless upgrading pistons sizes, etc., you will have the same amount of horsepower using our kit, as a stock LT1 would have, only fresh, clean, and brand new parts. Good Luck with your project.

If I could make a recommendation, even if you don't go through Super Auto Depot Inc. it would be worth your while to invest in a set of forged pistons, instead of cast or hypereutectics. Thanks.

Not a problem. We do have forged pistons manufactured by SpeedPro. When you are looking for them, type in the search box forged pistons. If the ones you are looking for aren't listed, send us an email, and we'll reply with a price quote. Good Luck with your project.
