Default MOTOR DIED!!! need some help here!!!

My friends 95 LT1 just died. He said he was pulling into his work and the car started stumbling and the oil pressure just started dropping and the motor died. Of course, now it wont crank. We had suspected he had a bad head gasket from the motor smoking sorta bad at times. (not the blue color associated with burning oil). Besides a pump die'ing, or a bad oil pressure sending unit, what would yuo suspect the possible causes to be? i can answer any questions if i left something out....HELP !!!

any SES lights? rings might be shot loosing compression, causing poor idle and blowby(smoke).

ok....new update....

got under the car last night and one sparkplug wire was burnt through and 3 others were burned. cranked it up and MAJOR backfire. Assuming it had fuel puddled in it from the non-sparking plug. should he crank it and just let it run for a few mins or do something else?

thanks for everything so far guys....(i told him to just ditch it and get a LS1 j/k)

well, its my car....i checked the wires and replaced the bad ones....but the car still has a good backfire and bad throttle response...its like bogged down and mushy kinda...the o2 sensors are bad and last time we hooked a scanner up to it they were throwing rediculously low readings...like 8.....they are still hooked up...should i try disconnecting them and letting the car run off the pcm code to see if that helps the backfire? i can replace the o2's this weekend, but i dont kno what else to look 4
