Compression check for the hell of it. Mine was wigging out, and all I had to do was adjust the Valves.

I would also check the plug wires. One might be touching the header.

Well this is a fresh motor with about 3000 miles on it. Have either of you had these problems before? So if the rockerarms are loose ith will do this or if they are tight? I just checked the wires but i will do it one more time. The funny thing is it only does this once it warms up.

If the car only does that when it gets warmed up is a good indication that the wire from the harness to the opti is bad. My car started the same thing, and then it started to go died and would not crank until the engine cooled. I found out that the wire tends to coriode. It could also be the coil breaking down, but if the rpm elevates. then check the wire first.

Well my car runs great at idle. Just a little high. So do you think it could be the wire leading to the opti.

I would check the wire first. I have had to put 5 opti's on my car in the past 2 yrs. let me just tell u DO NOT but an aftermarket from a part store. If you don't have an ac delco then that could be it. I bought one from Advance auto and O'reilly's and they lasted any were from one day to 2 mths. I tried 2 from each store and they all failed. Take the wire and on the connector, be careful and pull the rubber piece down from the bottom were the wire goes in. you might be able to see something. If nothing else soak the connector down with contact cleaner. That might help it out.

sounds like a bad opti
it took 3 tries for Accel to send me a good one
if the new opti didn't help when you put it on you might have gotten a **** one from the start

Do you have any idea where to buy the wire that leads to the opti? Does anyone think it could be the ignition control module going out?

I changed out the tpi sensor and the ICM and neither of these fixed the problem. I do have aftermarket injectors 32lb accels but do I really need that big of an injector? I have had my heads ported to stage 3 and a 584" lift cam 2.08" 1.62 " Valves ported intake and throttle body.

How hard is it to change this wire? Does anything need to be taken off the car? Also can I buy just that wire at a parts store? I am still learning the LT1 and my car is stumbling in upper rpms too. Thanks guys.

You don't need to take anything off. It's a little difficult to get to, but not all that hard.

Don't know if they have them at parts stores, I found replacement ones on ebay.
