to be honest lets stop F#$(IN bench racing and get it done.... it may pick up some power, but if u are a modified car dont think it will be a huge difference....i want to get into the technical end of it but i am just to lazy....in my own knowledge and opinion more air flow better power... less turbulence more power. if u go from a long CAI tube like on the LT1 to a LS1 lid style all u are doing is shorten the air flow allowing the engine to breath easier the only problem is that u might pick up some hot air from the engine....maybe.....the only intake i would ever change to is the K/N FIPK with open air filter element that might make some difference.

Merv, would this intake work with a harwood 2.5 inch cowl induction hood?

I did it under a stock Hood, some people have set it up under that Hood I believe.

The way I did it, get the following parts:

3.8L Intake bellow or Supercharger one (so you can connect circle to oval)
LS1 Radiator Support $20-30
LS1 Lid (Aftermarket is best, say SLP)

There are various ways to make it work, and the IAT sensor will be relocated rite in front of the Throttle body, and just make a hole for the opti vacuum.

How do you get the ls1 upper and lower air box to fit under a stock hood?

Unless you sheilded it somehow, that setup is pulling hot air right off the radiator/condenser. The only way that would work is with a lower box and a Fast Times ram air type deal under it.

Just my .o2
