I would replace the lifters, but not Comp R's, just do some sort of stock replacement, i also did lifter retainers as well for future ease of cam installs, just have to rotate it twice and then pull it straight, dont have to take the intake off or not, now whether i actually feel safe enough to do that idk yet, haha. Check your cam bearings as well when you do it.

They dont list the specs of it online, do you know them?

I would look at more cams and maybe a set of headers and 1.6RRs, I think there are some people running the comp cams cc503 with stock heads and stock stall.

This is the order in which you need to do your mods, seriously!

Stall
Gears (3.42 might be decent on A4)
1.6 RR/valve springs
cam swap

You can do the last two at the same time, but you really should get all the supporting mods before you do a cam swap. Your lifters should be fine, but swapping them out will only leave you with one less thing to worry about. There are also a lot of other upgrades you should do with your cam swap such as new pushrods. Then you can get the heads you want and you'll get a lot more out of your cam swap.

Comp is well known for their lack of knowledge.

For those of you who don't know, this cam is commonly known as the cc305. I would NOT recommend running this cam with stock rockers and I'm absolutely positive you will need new valve springs which means you'll be removing the rockers anyways.
As far as the stall, this cam will raise your operating rpm and your car will perform poorly with a stock stall. You might get a 20hp increase from just throwing this cam in, but your car will run like crap if you don't have supporting mods. I can guarantee that 100%.

The cam choice is fine, but you would need the supporting mods I mentioned. If you want, just get the LT4 hotcam kit and call it a day. It comes with pretty much everything you'll need and it's cheap. It should give you 20-30 hp increase if that's what you're looking for.
