how many rpms are you running? im not sure if the accel can handle a lot of rpms but i do know the dynaspark can handle up to 6800 reliably i am sure the msd is similar so i would pick between either of them
i have the dynaspark and it hasn't given me any problems in 30,000 miles so far

would this work or would it just fall apart in the next 500 miles again like the stock opti did

I just use a stock GM opti with riveted rotor contact. (drill out plastic rivets and install aluminum rivets). Mine is going on 2+ years like this and I've seen 7,650 rpm on the datalogs.

Your car is beautiful! Great job! I wish I had the time and the funds to do that with my car!

One thing you want to check with the MSD though, make sure the rotor screw is tight, you have to pull the cap off anyway to install the gasket, so check to make sure.
thats the only issue I have heard of MSD opti's so far, a few people have had the rotor come loose, fall off. And thats only happened to a few people, just double check.
