Default beehive springs and stock cam.........advice

Will 918 springs on a stock cam be ok? I mean I know that a 918 is a stiff spring, but will it be too stiff for a stock cam? Will there be any problems or will it be fine?

Why would you want to put 918's on the stock cam, there's no point in doing that.

If his springs have gone to **** and you are preparing for the future you can but then you need to worry about the stock rockers will they have issues with the retainers, you cannot run SA type rockers on them due to at reason.

well here the deal. A friend of mine- his car blew a head gasket and warped the heads bad. I have an extra set of heads(stock casting 2.00 intake and 1.57 exhaust valves, and 918 springs) We were going to mount to his motor so he could drive. Its his only means of transportation. So i was going to help him out, but was curious if the tension of the springs would possibly damage the cam lobes in some way.

No, springs wont damage the valve train, But if it was older it may not help.

Will be fine. I'd be more concerned about the stock lifters, if anything. I never got around to installing my cam (ran out of time when I was on leave), but replaced lifters/rockers/springs/etc. No problems. But thats also with Pro Mag NSA rockers, not stock.
