Default Took out a telephone pole with my LT1 truck

Happened at 5:02pm. I was at South Py Suzuki and there was no ice, just water. Got real cold real fast if anyone remembers, and things iced over by the time I got to my house which is only two miles away. I was going about 25mph and downshifted into second gear, when I let the clutch back out the rear tires just locked up on the ice and I went broadside. Head on into a telephone pole... and I only had liability.

See Photobucket album.

You couldn't tell it was ice. It got really cold really fast, stuff froze in a matter of five minutes believe it or not. My road needs tar and chipped really bad, it's all tar, no stone. There is nothing to grip. It just looked like water. The truck has 27" tires with 4.11 gears so it is still geared really high, so dropping into second gear at 25mph only takes it up to like 2k RPMs. That is how I slow down for the corner every day.

Oh, and I would say the truck won. Yes it is damaged, but the telephone pole was sheared off completely.

Could of been worse, atleast no one was hurt. Anything can be fixed. Kicked the **** out of the Pole though, and pissed off a few people that lost power..

That is known as "black ice". When the sun goes down, you must be very aware of the roads freezing.

Hopefully, now you know that when driving in questionable weather, you must drive differently.

Glad you weren't hurt and hopefully everything can be fixed up better than new.

I bet your the talk of the town. At least you weren't injured, and from the pics looks like not too much damage to the truck.
