You are racing a stock one with what?....The car in your sig? Or an unknown LT1?

well first both cars have to be maintained properly to be a even race.. i think intake/exhaust lets them hold up but the LS1 will start pulling at higher speeds...

If you're racing an 1/8th mile and he cant hook out of the hole...i'd say it'll take a little skill on your part to win this particular race...

If you can get it out of the hole, the LT1 will get it cause you can grab that torque real fast. The LS1 will catch it though, that's just what they do. I raced my friends 04 Z06 LS6, I got him out of the hole by about 4 carlengths, but he was up my *** real quick in a few seconds.

you might can hold him off in the 8th with a decent launch and no missed gears if your car has intake/exhaust.

I raced my Bro's 04 LS1 M6 GTO (with my 96 LT1 M6 Firebird) and had him by 2 car lengths off the line - I saw him in my rear view mirror! By the 1/8th mile he had almost caught up, and he ended up taking me by half a car length at the 1/4 mile mark.

The LS1 is just a better engine. I apologize to the LT1 / 4 faithfull for my previous, painful admission.

MIKE

I'll admit it, it's just better technology. The LT1 is 15 yrs old. It still kicks the **** out stuff though

Does he spin like crazy on the streets? Cause at the track with some good prep, he's gona have that traction back. And if he gets traction, your toast.

i think you could pull it off in the 1/8th if you arrive well prepared. but speaking from my experiences, i always get my a$$ kicked by the LS1. lol. low-end i can hold, but forget about it when the tach on the LS1 starts reaching the top, hahaha.
