Absolutely not. The stock springs will not last more than a few revolutions. The cc306 cam is going to put your stock valvesprings in coil bind, and parts are going to break immediately. Once your coils bind up, a pushrod will bend, a spring will break and drop a valve, a rocker will deflect, and worse.

Do not start the engine until the proper springs are installed!!!

Any number of springs will work for you, crane 10308-1 is a popular kit, comp 987 springs will work, or the new comp 918's are your best bet if you can afford buying the guideplates and NSA rocker arms.

Comp 918's work great. You can also run them with S/A rockers. Im running S/A magnums with not problems at all.

go with the comp 987s. i know they are heavier than the 918s but if the 918s break you drop a valve. the 987s still have an inner spring to rely on. i bought mine from an ebay company for 80 shipped brand new a couple days ago.

I would say that 987s are over kill but they are a hell of a lot cheaper than the 918s. Tell your buddy that cheap and performance dont go together.

I guess you should tell all the car manufacturers that they need to start running double springs from the factory....

If you honestly think a weak inner spring is going to keep the vavle off the piston since you won't know the instant the outter spring breaks then keep thinking that.
