Default Cali emissions and 400rwhp?

I was just wondering if this an attainable goal without having to use FI. I was thinking bolt-on's and the LE2 package maybe?

Though I'm not sure that would keep me emissions legal :/

Any ideas?

i am going to do the lingenfelter rebuild on my car, and it is around 400 hp and smog legal, but kind of pricey.

Ask him for a small custom that will pass emissions, or just go with a CC503, it can be tuned to pass. You can probably make 370-380ish or so, I say just spray a 50 shot and call it good.

Do you want it to just pass the sniffer, or the visual too. If its a 93-95 you can run better headers and still keep the cats in the stock location, but you will be limited on the amount of overlap you can run. A 383-396 will be able to make more power and still pass emissions.

Out here in cali its easy to find some mexican dude that will *make* your car pass for a couple hundred bucks

the ridiculous smog regs they have out here just opened up a huge black market. I can literally think of 4 people off the top of my head...
'

either that or register in a county that doesn't require smog checks

Wow guys thx for the replies. I really wouldn't care about the visual, but some of my friends have been, pulled over by cops a few times and they have both been sent to state refs. One of the cops even said "Your not allowed to modify your car period." Which I know is BS...

So I would just find a guy but I don't wanna get pulled over and sent to a ref :/

The LE2 package is looking better and better, though I didn't know they made an emissions cam.

Just don't get caught street racing or they'll crush your car.
