Default Any good dyno results from XFI cams yet?

Does anyone have some nice dyno numbers or track times from cam using XFI lobes yet? I've talked to a few different engine/performance shops and they all told me that as far as GEN I/II cams are concerned they are the way to go. I've seen some nice numbers from the smallest XFI cam in a TPI motor (218/224) but that is it. I know Bret Bauer said the 242/248 XFI cam has lobes that shouldn't work at the RPM that cam should be pulling. I was told in another thread today that the XFI lobes simply "don't work well" and am having a hard time believing this and want to see some results from people using these cam lobes whether it is an off the shelf or custom grind. I have a custom grind XFI cam and don't want to be disappointed by its performance.

Dynos give you a meaningless piece of paper, how about looking for track results, they are far more meaningful.

People say they are the best because they are the lastest and supposed to be the greatest and most people ignore RESULTS in favor of a good marketing campaign.

Been discussed here before if you search, I am not the only one that has observed these cams not being what they are claimed.

I did ask for either dyno results or track results. I've seen a few of the other discussions you mentioned (like the one where Bret chimed in that I mentioned) but I'm looking for some specific track times or dyno numbers. I don't mind seeing dyno numbers because when combined with eight and a few other factors you can determine what kind of times should be obtainable.

all praise bret bauer because he custom grinds cams, but the 242/248 is a great cam. there is a guy on camaroz28.com that is running that cam in his 383 and is looking for high 10s on motor. im not saying he doesnt know what hes talking about because obviously he does, im sure what he means is he can make a better came with the same lift, but for an off the shelf cam, they are good cams.

242/248 sucks in a 350" motor. Probably is nice in a 383 or 396.

they dont suck, they make GOOD power for an off the shelf cam, if you want GREAT power go with a custom grind cam. Theres to many variables to say that the cam sucks, one person could have the cam and run 12.5s and another person with the same set up can run 11.5s. Going from what i have heard and read they do make good power, but you will only get so much power out of the xfi cams.

I don't know if the cam sucks, but I have the 468 in my 383. I was able to kick down an 11.88 with a crappy set of ported heads. I feel there was more to the car, since my tranny was going. I'm waiting on the new tranny to arrive, so new times will be here soon I hope.

Pretty much what I figured. I ordered a custom cam from comp and they ground me one on XFI lobes and I was interested in seeing some results from these camshafts.

Comp is the last place I would order a custom cam from, people have called back a few different times and every time they got different specs for their "custom" cam.

I ordered it through the shop that did my heads (Port Pros) and it was ground by Comp. Hopefully that works better than just calling them up and asking for a custom cam.
