Yeah I would say shorties are just as bad as manifolds. LT's is a whole new (easier) ballgame.

I'd rather have my thumbs smashed with a dead blow than change plugs in a car with stock manifolds. that ****'s for the birds!

I'm not a big fan of the pass. side design, but changing plugs with my hooker LT's is a walk in the park compared to stock. mainly because now I can SEE the plugs I'm trying to take out, rather than just prodding around looking for them.

LT's are MUCH easier for sure!

helllllllllllllllllllllllll no. It's just as hard to change the plugs, and i'm positive that it's even harder to change the wires on an LT1. LS1s don't have to feed the wires back to an opti. Coilpacks are right above the spark plugs, so they just have to go straight upward.

with LTs, itll make it easier if you use a spark plug socket with a wrench hex on the other end. using the wrench will give you more room than a ratchet.

i can get to #1,3,5 from the top and 2,4,6. 7 and 8 are easily accessable from the floor.

I had Pace Setter LT's and used a 3/4 Wrench with the Plug Socket, took me 35 min on my LT1 to do all the Plugs. #5 was really tight to get to, and so was 6 due to the Oil Dip Stick..
I was pretty much gettin them all from the bottom except 6,7,8,.
I have complete AC delete also too..

With my new LSX Engine...all 8 in 20 min, no ****..
I've done it 3 times already..

I hope its easier to do it, I'm going to be spraying mine. I can't imagine taking the time it does now with my BBK shorties, they are a bitch to work around.

They are very easy with pacesetter long tubes.

I can get all the drivers side from the top no problem. Front two on the pass side from the top. Then I jump underneath it and get the two back ones on the pass side.

I also have no AIR which helps. I don't use a ratchet either. I just use a spark plug socket and a 19mm wrench.

I have shorties on my car right now and it's still way easier than with the stock manifolds. That said I still hate shorties, so I will be getting rid of them soon.

Probably depends on who makes them. My shorties weren't any fun.

pacesetter LTs with taylor OTVC wires. they fit great. I put mine in before I installed the starter, trans, and dipstick tube so Im sure that would add some difficulty. I believe I got the front two on each side from the top and the rear two from the bottom.
