Exclamation T56 drivers in here...interest in an SFI Bellhousing

if you would seriously like a bellhousing for our cars please post here, preferably with your name. I am going to see what, if anything can be done about having an approved bellhousing for our LT cars. But we need to show serious interest in it. If you are not certain, or don't think you would get one then please do not post.

I would like to forward this thread once there is a good indicator of the demand if there is any at all for a proper bolt in bellhousing for our cars(without having to convert everything to ls1 style). if there isn't a demand i already have plans ..i hope i don't have to act on those though, and no it isn't an automatic. car will stay a T56.

i am sure it won't be cheap, but your feet, or worse your life can't be replaced.

thanks so much!
taner

I would buy one now if one was available.. Keep us posted

I thought Mcleod was in the process of getting one made for the lt1's??

I always wondered what bell housing the fastest lt1 6 spd had in his car.

No the ls1 bell housing will not work in our cars, unless you change the pivot style clutch assembly for the ls1 push style ( imput shaft, front plate of t-56, slave cylinder)

taner, my friend jon would buy one in a heart beat if it was avaiable. he has a 93 Z28 with a vortech that makes a ton of power. we actually talked about it a month or two ago. if you go on camaroz28.com or njfboa.org, he posts as PamperedZ.
i will give him a heads up and tell him to get in touch with you ASAP.

I also heard one was in the works from Mcleod? I am definitely into buying one. I already new one so i think the SFI approved one is the vest choice. I like my toes. read this threadhttps://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-racing-results/805897-started-day-3-pedals-finished-2-pedals.html
I also thought about having my dad weld some steal plate in the floor board to help out to.

I'd buy one but can't immediately. It would be great if enough people show interest to get this going for those of us who will need it in the future.

there was another post somewhere about this. i went to mcleod's website and they confirmed they were testing one now. this was a few months ago. hopefully they will build it very soon. i have a very fond relationship with my legs, i would like to keep them and not loose them to a clutch flying apart.

well currently nothing is available. considering what i just went thru a week ago. if it cost 1000 dollars i could care less, i am very fortunate to have my lower extremities attached to where they belong. I would say if you are anywhere near 500 rwhp, it couldn't hurt. I am at, or over 1000 fwhp on the bottle. honestly, launching the car at 5k + rpm, shocks everything. i spent the money on a custom blanket, because that is all i knew at the time.

moserman,

are your feet worth $475? ... mine are worth alot more than that! please don't take offense, just my honest opinion. i would just hate to see anyone else go through what happened to me. it is going to probably cost me close to 5K to recover from what happened.

frans,

i was thinking of going the same route. but i will decide over the next short period on what to do.

well, switching is the most logical path to take. it isn't cheap, but you can put a bell housing in place to work!
