Might get another F-body. Need LT1 advice.
I sold my pick-up a few weeks ago and have been searching for a new daily driver. Now before u guys tell me get a 4cylinder for a DD. My definition of a DD is something other than my LS1 t/a. I just need something to drive to work and on days when the weathers shitty. I found this 1995 Z28 A4 a couple weeks ago and im very interested in it. Its got just under 76K on it and looks very well cared for. But alls ive seen are pics of the car and im trying to set up a test drive this weekin.
Basically i want to know if there are anythings i should look out for when i go take a look and drive it.
He wants $6500 for the car and that sounds reasonable to me. I'll probly try to get him down to $6000.
Anyway what do you guys think??

Looks good vs most LT based cars you see nowadays. I would say ding him on interior quality and the dirty engine compartment to drop him down to 6000.
It looks like a pretty good buy seeing as the low NADA blue book on that bad boy is 5900 and the "clean" value is 6,750. With some degreaser and TLC that engine compartment could be restored to like-new quality.

Looks pretty good. I little dirty under the hood though. I think a good DD would be something that is good in the snow, although I don't know where you are at, over another Camaro, but its up to you man. If you don't mind driving it in bad weather, go for it.

Just got done test driving it. Car feels very good, rides very well, and seems to be mostly stock. I think im going to buy it. I think we are agreeing on 6200. Seems like a pretty good deal to me. It needs new tires soon but other than that it seems pretty sound. And it needs 4 new tires not just the rear tires, so that a good sign to me.

A new Ford EDGE FWD gets 16city/24hwy, so buying a 4cyl doesn't mean good gas mileage lol An A4, we all know, gets a few less than an M6, but still it's on part with that silly EDGE. It looks great, but I'd have to say ask $6000 as well. I'd honestly say $5700 since it's all stock, even with the lower miles. If it had mods, headers, other bolt ons, maybe a cam, then that price would be more justified. The aftermarket rims help a bit though. All depends on how the interior looks and smells. If the leather look sworn, or the dash is faded.
Again, in my opinion NO MORE than $6K. I got mine, with some minor flaws, for $3800 with 93K on the clock and it had new rear brakes and a new cat + SLP exhaust.
If you have they money though, pick it up because you'll love it in the long run LT1s are under rated and fun to drive.

Well, FWIW you get what you pay for. It's low milage, good year, sharp color (and one that's easy to resell), has wheels, and seemingly well taken care of.
If the car is clean, and worth it to you, buy it.

Does everyone on this site think that a DD has to be a beater. Cant u have a DD thats in decent shape. I take good care of all of my vehicles, and yes I will beat on it. I beat on all my rides but there is a difference between beating on it and letting it go to ****. Or beating on it and taking good care of it.

In defense of the car its in great shape. Sure its a little dirty under the hood but thats nebraska for u. And the interior is perfect. The previous owners must have been the type of person that never lets it get dirty inside. I mean I couldnt even get on it wide open because there was like 3 floor mats under the damn gas pedal. And personally I would rather have a car thats completely stock. I will pay more for a car thats stock and one thats modded and rodded.
Thats just me...

i think its a good price and i dont know anything about the lt1's but one thing i have heard and read is dont take it to the carwash and start sprayin on it so a dirty engine bay i would think is ok for a dd good luck..

bad weather? in anything more than a drizzle i feel like i'm driving a drift car. even with new tires in bad weather i drive like father time. but other than that its in good shape to be 13 years old and the miles are great most lt1 cars have 1xx,xxx miles on them i'm not crazy about the interior of the 93-96 i liked my 97z alot better in that aspect. i'd say 6200 would be an ok price. alot of dealerships would ask 10,000 for one like that.
