I really think that the 11.30 is a good number to aim for with a N/A stock internals LT1. A good friend of mine ran that fast years ago with a bone stock, high mile LT1 N/A.

Installed the LT1 today!

Engine bay.

Also installed the Turbo Action TH-200 and JPT 8" converter (note the SFI flexplate, BMR crossmember, and solid transmission mount).

Why did you go with a TH-200? Interesting, you don see a lot of guys use them, thats all.

Engine bay looks pretty sharp, and clean. What steering rack is that? Stock, blocked off?

The TH-200's have a 2.75 first gear and are lighter (faster) than a TH-350 when built right.

Aftermarket kit from Pete-Z. About 4 lbs lighter than stock.

Thanks. The kids are in total control. All I do is direct and advise. Jason will be the driver when we run IHRA events, but all of them will get a chance to drive (if they get their parents permission and are willing to listen to instruction). Once they hit the track, they will be one of the most highly sponsored teams in all of IHRA Sportsman racing!

Thats really cool man, gives them alot of great experience in alot of different fields. Too bad you weren't closer, I'd be down for checking it out. Still impresses me that they will be driving the car. You don't hear of that very often

So you donated the motor and you are putting it into your firebird? Whats the race weight and whats left in the car? Should be a fun ride

To keep things legal, the car is owned by Poole-Adams Racing, Inc. It is sponsored by DPA Equipment, Inc. We have also recieved help from Warren Racing Engines (Heads), Beaver Bail Bonds (Mickey Thompson tires), JPT Transmissions (Stall converter), and more to come!

We will be running a full stock interior, minus the back seat. The race weight will be below 3000 lbs.

The shakedown passes will probably be made at Shadyside with me driving. Once I know that everything is safe, we will most likely meet Jim Harrington at Piedmont for some serious schooling. Jim is one of the countries best sportsman racers and has offered to teach the kids the correct way to pilot the car.
