Something brought to my attention I would like to throw out there. It makes good sense.
quoted from the source:
"if you allow SS(Stock Eliminator) cars it will kill the class for the grassroots racer. There are plenty of races available to the SS cars but nothing for the joe blow NA LTx guys. I fear that if joe blow finds out a SS car will show that they wont."
I agree with this but I would also like to accomodate the Stock Eliminator cars. Any ideas how I could kill two birds with one stone?

Tony,
I'm OK with whatever you decide. As your rules stand right now a car built to run N/A should hand a LT1 Stocker it's butt. Seems to me that these guys need to work harder.
Take Care,

don't need to do that. I meet all the requirements to run in the NA class. I'm under the tire rule just have to add some weight. By that time I may be doing just that thought..depends on when I decide to do some stuff to it that I have sitting in my shop. I plan on coming to the race and will run in whatever class I meet tech in but doubt I will build the car or not do something to just make the rules for one race.

if he meets the rules then come race but I don't see adjusting the rules to include a car that will hurt turnout. If you meet the set rules then give it a shot. Not sure if it would be worth it for him to get the car registered and buy a set of tires for one race though.

While you are freezing your *** off in your race car. I will more then happy to push the buttons to roll up my windows and turn on the heat so I can drive to the track in the rain with my wipers on.
Then again the class was not made for race cars per say

For the record, the 29.5 tires are about the same diameter as some 30" radials and will actually grow more than than the radial. They are a whole lot more stable than the bias-ply tire. And again, a car built to run the existing rules should hand any LT1 Stocker it's butt.
You do race N/A, right?

4.71 its not so bad with a 28" tire. The final drive ratio of a 6 speed helps out allot on that too. Even with a stock size tire the rpms were only around 2600 at highway speeds if I remember. I'm also not trying to fool anyone though. The car rarely goes on the street.

Agreed, shifting with your hand is much more effective. (and safe)
Sorry, strict RPM limit of 7099 ... you're disqualified.
