Ok Guys, Well I think i'm going to order one tomorrow morning, Today some **** happened...I just took down my shifter to tighten the stick because it felt loose last week, it was fine when I got to it, after reassembling the console etc. The shifter was much smoother and so was engagement for whatever reason....today when I went out for my sunday drive it was normal and half way through my drive shortly after leaving a stoplight my shifter would not go into 3rd or back into 2nd, I had to "jiggle" the shifter to get it in gear, this also happened to me going downhill talk about scary it is difficult to get it into gear with my usual throw pattern & style that i've been using since I've had the car, I have to use a totally different grip and movement to get it in, I don't even want to tear down the console another time just to look at this piece of **** Again so I'm just going to replace it. There was no gear noise etc. so I'm pretty sure its just my Hurst going out or something....

I just installed my new MGW and the shifter is very tight and nice. It is easily the best shifter I have ever used Unfortunatly , for me I am an adiophile and although this shifter claims to be the quietest, I can't deal with any gear noise I guess. The shifter is like a week old and I drove maybe 55 miles on it.

Do you guys think that if I put the platstic console back in it would quiet it down to stock levels. Right now I just have the number 6 boot on it. It is the old debate Performance vs. Comfort. I would HATE to hear how loud the pro 5.0 is...

Anyways I paid 211$ for it but if you want to save some money you can have it for $165 plus shipping. OR I'll trade a stock HURST plus 100$.

I'll send it with everything It came with minus the rtv gasket tube, used it.

Let me know.

If you cant handle the added "noise" that the shifter gives you then keep it stock. Its BARELY louder than stock and thats just because of the solid build of it transferring more drive train noise into the cabin.

If you dont have the console in youll have a lot of extra noise regardless. Put that in and see how it is.

You gotta modify ie cut if needed the factory rubber boot and get it back over that shifter if you didn't already.

and you did, I am sure you will love it as it really is a great shifter, I was just hoping for something as quiet as stock.

just put my order in today, they couldn't send it out though but it'll ship tomorrow, hopefully itll get to me here in sunny california by the end of this week. got rid of my pro 5.0 for it, i HATED the weak *** springs, couldn't center for anything. can't wait for this to come in!!! on and btw, did it go up in price or something?? they're gonna charge me 219 for it, i'm guessing they charge it when they ship it, but i was told 219... oh well, if this shifter is all it's cracked up to be over the 5.0 , it'll be worth it.

I believe 219 is the going rate with shipping? I've never even seen a pro 5.0 but I'm pretty sure I won't even look back when I get the MGW in the mail.

Read up a few posts.

R is a chore to get to sometimes. Its a VERY delibrate move on the MGW that can put you in 5 if you arent paying attention as Ive done twice already and even killed it once.

i simply do not understand why everyone is saying they are going to shift into reverse.
THERE IS A LOCKOUT SOLENOID on the transmission, i shift over and hit a wall, you can only get into reverse if the car is stopped or like 1mph

why would you power shift or shift fast into an overdrive gear...thats not good for the transmission.
