Yes, there is a lock out solenoid.

However you can still feel the slot for the R but you cant shift into it at any type of speed. IIRC you have to be going 2.5 MPH or slower.

I just bought one of these. It'll be here this Monday. My last TA had a Ripper in it. We'll see how this one feels in comparison (if I can remember that far back).

I never said it was hard, just a very deliberate move to get into it.

I didnt come on strong and if it came off as that, then sorry.

Hard and deliberate are two totally different words though. I just wanted to clarify that.

Well even with my stock shifter, while stopped if i go to 4th then reverse it makes it easier to get it in gear for some odd reason... reverse with the stock shifter is a little weird going in to it.

well I just got this sombitch in, Gotta say Its NIiiice. Driving with a bigass hole thru the trans area sucks, gonna put the ol' console back in tomorrow morning.Couldnt find a tube of black rtv so I used the red gasket maker instead. the height is not to my liking, I was dissapointed that it wont take my lous short stick, and sits like an inch higher but it does shine on 1-4, Gotta get my hoodpin fixed so I can test it in acceleration over 40mph. THUMBS UP FROM ME! is the gold piece that holds the stick supposed to be facing 9 o clock or 10?

The gold piece was moved due to some rubbing issues on some cars. Mine is at the 9 oclock position but the newer ones are at 10.

You can put a stick in of whatever length you want, just got to find one that will be the same size diameter of the one it came with. I know a few people have done that.

Also what shift **** are you using?

oh cool, mine is at 10 o clock. The lous ss has a fatter tapered base, if i were to try and use it itd sit about 1.5-2 inches below the bezel and push on the boot unless I saw it off for about a 4 inch stick, I am gonna order a ws6 store stick since it is all the same width. I am using a Hurst Classic 6spd ****
The funny thing is, the day before I got my shifter in my stocker started to be ok again, I am assuming the hurst needs adjustment? I'm never going back, It's just gonna sit on my couch with the rest of my "autoparts store"

I used the stock Hurst **** on mine. The hurst classic **** sits far too high for my liking as well.

lol I suppose I should measure it, it just seems abnormal to me. maybe its because of the position of that gold piece

Itll take a few days to get adjusted to it. It did when I went from the Hurst to it. I kept wanting to try to take off in 3rd instead of 1st and shifting 1-4 on accident.

does the pro 5.0 have any advantages at all over the MGW? I am ordering one or the other tomorrow and would just like to be sure of my choice
