did you bleed the hydrolics? Your fluid is most likely black.

Yeah check the fluid on the driver side next to the brake booster and see what it looks like.

change it if it is black. Its bad.

But changing it is a bitch. I would go get a remote bleeder. It makes everything so nice.

There is a sticky on here about drilling a hole and doing it the easy way.

Where are you located? Either you or a shop but it will take a few hours either way.

I'm in your same situation, The stealership quoted me like $623 for parts and labor, and the local transmission shop quoted me about $550 for parts and labor for the slave. I'm just gonna wait it out and have it done when I upgrade my clutch.

sounds like a good deal my friend... since he's a buddy i'd see if you can give him 100 and some food and barly sodas but either way that's a good deal i had my friend take out the tranny and swap the clutch for 100 bucks and i'd check to see if you can bleed it and fix the problem

Your posting like you dont even want to give it a try. Just b/c your in school doesn't mean you cant take a trans out to replace a slave if thats even the case. As others have stated if your fluid is black its BAD, change it, then if the problem persists you most likely have a bad slave. The trans doesnt even have to come completely down, just pull the input shaft far enough back that the slave can slide off and leave the trans suspended on a jack.

This project could be done in an afternoon if you wanted to, I had never takin a trans out in my life or even really started tearing cars apart till i got my z and i did my slave on jack stands in my garage and it doesnt require that many tools either. I'd suggest if you have a buddy that would do it, that you try and get time to watch/help him work on your car so you learn something and can realize it's not that hard.
