Im running an Autozone slave cylinder, and it seems to be working fine. I ordered a GM unit, and have it sitting on the shelf just in case. When I install my TICK master cylinder, if I find things arent working correctly, Ill put the GM slave cylinder in just to be certain.
If you are instaling a new slave unit, I HIGHLY recommend a remote bleeder from either Tick or LPP.... They are great for bleeding the clutch. I can completely flush my system in like 15 minutes without ever getting down on the ground or even getting dirty. Wonderful little tool.

I just installed the TICK MC/GM slave along with a Competition Clutch/Flywheel on a stock '00 SS. I only have a couple of hundred miles on the clutch so I can not offer any performance reviews. However, daily driving the car is way more enjoyable! I have not missed any gears or had any grind since i put these parts in. They are definitely worth the $

I wouldn't short change yourself now. I ordered my Tick MC on this group purchase here because I wanted a top notch piece. Your thread title is named "Best slave and master cylinder", well, the Tick MC is the BEST from everything I've read and other reviews. So basically you got the best, don't throw it away because it's a little more coin that a stock piece. Although I can't vouch for it personally, Tick's MC and GM's MC are not "likely the same thing", not by a long shot.
