Default upside down t56

recently got into a bad accident that ended with my z28 upsidedown. Tranny fluid was everywhere but there were no signs or damage to the engine or tranny. Is there a bleeder hole on the top that it was leaking out of?? I want to use this tranny for another car i have. Info would be helpful

thanks

Probably came out the vent tube (black tube at the top of the picture), possibly out of the shifter. I'd drain it completely, check the fluid coming out, if clear, refill it and reuse it. Good luck.

Well, looks like you are OK, that's is good to hear. And as stated above, their is a vent tube for teh tranny, and that is where fluid probaly came out, and is very unlikely that your tranny suffered damage (from that part anyway).

bolts around the back of hte bellhousing.....removing the driveshaft....removing the crossmember for the transmission (The bar that holds the tranny up in place) and thats about it.

You will need an alignment tool to put it back in though

Basic hand tools with some long extensions, and wobble sockets. Drain pan (even though your's might be empty now ) but have one on hand anyway.
A jack and some jackstands, and extra pair of hands will get you pretty much taken care of.
Now, are you planning on removing and installing a clutch as well? If so, then yes, you need an alignment tool at that point, but alot of clutches (like the Monster Clutches I sell ) an alignment tool comes in the kit.
Again, glad to see you guys are OK. Could have been ALOT worse, as you know.
