i have an ongoing problem.....during take offs and even during firm shifts i hear a good thump under the car...its like somehting isnt tight and under torque it pulls together. Iv changed my tranny mount to a solid and its not my exaust because i have headers and true duals now with no loose ends or clearence probs....ive looked over most of the car....cant figure it out..it makes the car feel loose all together...it sucks! any help would be much appreciated

.
Sounds exactly like a broken tranny mount .... did you change it previous to this thump, or did you change it due to the thump?
If you changed it before, and this is new, that is 90% you're problem.

I've broken 4 of them and you described the exact symptoms.

Did you put in a "new" 1LE mount...I've heard of them making the trany sit higher and causing the thump. There is a post floating around somewhere about putting poly washers or some other tuff washer to drop the trany a tad.

went to test n tune tonight and on my third launch just after shifting to 3rd it felt like the back in came loose(little fish tail action) so I let off and now I can feel and hear a thump when I get on it. Let me know how it turns out please.

I swapped out for a Pioneer Trans mount because I thought mine needed to be replaced (Shifter moves on hard acceleration). Once I replaced it the last bolt didnt fit the new mount, so I left it off until I can get another one. Now when I take off hard, mine makes the thump. Im wondering if it has to do with that bolt or if Im going to have to go back to the stock mount...

I wonder if its in the torque arm. Driving one yesterday on a moderate 1-2 shift the rear seems to 'move' a bit, I felt the clunk also...

Swapped back and no clunk...I think it definitely has to do with the aftermarket tranny mounts. I checked over my torque arm and no problems there.

Who sells a, 1LE Tranny mount?, I have a clunking noise when I shift and when I let of the gas, as well as when I drive of bumps in the road. I think I need one too.

I think my clunking noise is due to the heat shield (Just above the cat) on the passenger side. If I listen really close the sound comes from that side, and if enough weight is put on that side it doesnt rattle. I got under the car and smacked the shield pretty good and it made a sound that was exactly like the rattle. Check that out on your car and let me know if yours seems to be the same thing.
