Default Road Racing Clutch Help

I race a LS1 powered Panzoz GTS racer in road racing. I need some information on what might be the best clutch/flywheel set up for this car.
T-56 transmission, weight 2500 lbs, 12" rims with slicks, LS1 with ASA cam, trick flow heads, headers.
Thanks,
R T Whitfield

I have seen Exedy twin-disc units hold up to enormous abuse on road courses.

Do you race in a class with a clutch rule?

You can do a cost effective button style clutch in either a dual disk 7.25" or a triple 5.5". Either one will handle the power. You can do either a Quarter Master pro-series, which is a little heavier, more expensive, but more durable. Or you can do the V-drive series, which is less expensive, and should be fine with the light weight of your car.

I am assuming this car is not driven on the street and is winched on to the trailer.

I have a triple disc 7.25" QuarterMaster setup in mine. Total weight for clutch/flywheel/discs/PP is 14lbs.

I'm running a GForce GSR dogbox which has a magnesium case and is about 70lbs lighter than a T56 not including the weight savings from the lighter clutch/flywheel assembly. It revs like a motorcyle.

You are at a crossroad where you can drop 100lbs by selling the T56 for $1500 (easily), and upgrading to the GForce setup. PM me if you want the contact info from where I bought mine. It was from a NASCAR racecar and like new. It was about $5K total to do the conversion with clutch/starter/flywheel/trans/shifter/driveshaft mod.

It looks like the OP is MIA. For anyone else that cares, here is a source for a Quarter Master 5.5" button flywheel, that I just ran across:

Here is a dual disk 8.5" Quarter Master setup. It is similar to the single disk that I used on my RX7.
