Default Transmission Stuck to Engine

Hi! I took my car to Pep Boys to get my clutch fixed... Everything was going well until it was time to separate the transmission from the engine. They are not able to pry it apart. They tried lubricating it but nothing worked. Is there something that you could suggest so they can separate the transmission from the engine? Thanks!

R++

BTW the car is an 2004 Kia Optima

I had the same problem; just have to keep on prying. You can try heating the bellhousing side (not too hot) to get it to expand and break the seal.

They should be removing the trans from bell housing, then bell housing to engine.

Also FAIL for bringing it to Pep Boys.

Welcome New Guy! You don't say what year your car is. '93-'97 LT1 cars it is necessary to disengage the clutch fork from its pivot on the trans before removing the trans. The LT1s TO bearing is captured in the PP fingers with a retaining ring.

LOL @ this thread. pb blaster on trans dowel pins, and pry like you have never pried before. it may come down to having to use a hammer and chisel.
