Default New LS7 clutch, now car shakes

Hello everyone, I did a search on this but the only thing I found was people complaining of their car shaking at higher RPM then idle with a new clutch. Well I'm experiencing shake when I barely engage the clutch, just enough to get the car rolling, at or around idle RPM. This LS7 clutch is brand new, and functions GREAT at every other speed. It's only when I feather it at low RPMs, such as backing into my garage, that the transmission shakes quite noticeably. Is this something that generally goes away once a clutch is broken in? Or is there something I may have missed during the install?

You think so? It's funny you say that, because I have a polyurethane mount on it now (not sure of brand, it was on there when I bought the car, one of the red ones) and when I went to put the car back together, the threads pulled out of it. I was able to run a tap through it, and get the stud to seat pretty well again, but you may be on to something. That joker could have pulled right out of there when I ran the car after the install. I'll have to check into it. Thanks for the pointer!

Also now that you say that, alot of people run stock OEM tranny mounts because of the bad vibrations it causes. No problem bud hope it helped!

Yeah, maybe I'll just drop the 90 bones and pick up a stocker. Thanks again!

Think back...did you torque all the bolts with Loctite? Did you replace the pilot bearing??

Since this just started after the clutch swap, I highly doubt its the trans mount.

Were the components clean? Sometimes if the disk is dirty, it can chatter.

Some cluthes are prone to chatter during bracket-in period. Give it 400 to 600 to make sure it's not just chatter. If the problem persist you might need to pull it.

Ran into something with a Sachs LS1 clutch. Were there dowels in outer perimeter holes in the original flywheel? Did you transfer over to the new one?
Also, any chance you bent one of the pressure plate fingers while mounting it?

Hey guys, thanks for all the responses. It seems as though now that I've put about 200 miles on this new clutch, it's not quite AS bad as it was in the beginning. I'll keep feeling it out to see what it ends up like. The parts were as clean as I could get them, I shouldn't (hopefully) have bent any of the fingers on the pressure plate, and the flywheel is new that came with the kit, and had the dowels already installed. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it, and hopefully it'll continue to smooth out as I put more miles on it. Other than just this chatter at extremely low speeds, the clutch is phenomenal! Thanks again everyone for their help!

Well the chatter hasn't gotten any better, and still just doesn't seem right to me. Well, I decided to tear it all apart again, and take a look at what's going on. Take a look at these pictures, for having only 700 miles on this clutch, should there be markings like this? I'm guess this is from some sort of uneven pressure, as well as ties into my original problem. Everything appears to be pristine, no broken springs or fingers on the pressure plate, and the disc appears to be in great shape. The flywheel had very minor, similar markings on it but otherwise was in good shape. Could the problem possibly lay with my slave cylinder? I bought the cheapo one from autozone. It seems fine, but I could be wrong.

I'm interested in seeing what your problem is too man. It seems I'm having the same problem.

I've seen that pressure plate pattern on a clutch/flywheel that was out of balance. I would suggest having the flywheel and pressure plate balanced together. Then check the flywheel runout and make sure it's flat on the crank.

Hmm... wouldn't I have a noticeable shake at certain RPM's if my flywheel/pressure plate were out of balance? Also, the two mate together in any one of 3 different relationships with one another, with no visible markings to indicate a specific placement, if they were balanced together, shouldn't there be a marking to indicate only one orientation? Or did I completely miss that step in clutch installation class?

They're "supposed" to be 0 balance from the factory. Mark them, have them balanced, reinstall. Check the flywheel for runout and double check the pressure plate fingers for bends/damage. Btw, any pulsating in the pedal?

Negative, nothing in the pedal at all, at any RPM.
