Stage 1 or Stage 2 would provide great drivability and capacity. Take a look and let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks,

Below you will find the link to our kits for the 99 Silverado. Take a look and let me know if you have any further questions. The SC18 series parts (shown in the second assembly listed on the page) are specific to the 4.8L motor.

LS7 =direct bolt in heavier duty [it'll last longer]. Lots of good aftermarkets, for a stock let price decide.

Agree with two above posts... LS7 clutch will hold on for a long time

I had a spec stage 2 in my old bolt on 96 Cobra, I personally felt it had the same drive ability as stock OEM.

I have driven with a Spec clutch before and its feels like an OEM clutch I had no problems with it at all.

One of the above sponsors. For a stock or stockish build LS7 fine anything more and you want a aftermarket setup.

I went the LS7 route but only because The only mod my car has is 4:10's and it's not raced, sprayed, launched or beaten on. I just drive it.

This is what I was after. Any experience with anything above?
I want something to handle what I am building, but good drivability.

Aftermarket all the way gm builds good stuff but the aftermarket builds better when you need lot's of power put to the pavement every time reliably. Call one of the above sponsors and talk with them about your needs and your exact setup they can then tailor something that will fit your criteria and judgement and most importantly you will be happy. It's always a good idea to check here for a general consenus of a direction to go but don't ever let it force you into a decision cause the guys on the internet said so.

I had a monster level 2 in my car for 1,000 miles and hated it. The pedal effort was significantly more than the LS7 I currently have and it chattered very bad. So bad that I thought I was going to break something.

Several of my friends have had spec clutches in their F-Bodies and liked them. I've drove their cars and they were as smooth as my LS7.

I drive my car about 80 miles every day and the LS7 makes my ride very enjoyable. Smooth engagement, and a stock pedal feel.
