Default Hard Brakes after T56 Conversion

Alright guys. Just got the car to "drivable" yesterday after converting from the A4 to t-56. The last thing to wire is the reverse Lockout and ill be ready to go. ALSO I need the tune for M6. Anyhow. I pushed the car out of the driveway and carried on down the street. The tick and Monster stg3 is something to get use to but it all works. While coming up to the first stop sign I applied the brakes and the car did not want to stop. The pedal felt real real stiff. I got out and made sure everything under the hood was good. Got vacuum suction to the Brake Booster, good on brake fluid, so im lost. The brakes were fine before the conversion. Im wondering if because the car is still not tuned if that could be the issue...Anything will be helpful.

Thanks,
Josh

The booster is purely mechanical in operation, so something must have been upset when you done the swap.
Unless the ABS system ( if fitted ) is activating somehow.

Default abs

Could be.. the ABS light is on... I noticed it appeared after I took the car out of storage in michigan before I brought it down to florida. I need to troubleshoot that I guess.

generally if the ABS light is on, the ABS has a fault and the system will be shut off. So that shouldnt be the problem you are experiencing, although it is still a problem.

Default tune

Yeah idk. The problem was not there before the conversion. Im wondering if im not getting enough vacuum, its there but how much? I don't think the booster is shot, least I hope not..Just wonder if the M6 tune will fix it. research....

The brake booster is a purely mechanical device. ECU tuning can have no effect.

Most likely you have either trapped a hose or something. Or possibly you have the pedal adjusted so it's pushing the master rod too far, so the booster never actually seals in order to obtain any vacuum.

Well obvious one, automatic pedals are usually much wider.

But in almost all cars, the actuating rod is adjustable. I'd assume Camaro's are no different.

I did this swap also and ya the brakes should be affected. Most likely something is fubar in the linkage at the pedals somewhere. And being that you abs was on before the swap it probably wont help. But I know when I did the swap the t56 somehow threw off the tc, my dash looked like an xmas tree with asr, and abs lights on

Default Fixed

So I took off the front Calipers to check to see if I have free movement of the pistons. Looks like one was stuck/ had very little movement when brakes were applied. New front Calipers fixed the problem. Kinda crappy considering I didn't mess with the brakes and they worked fine before my t56 conversion.. Oh well. Another thing fixed.
