Well i think that i have finished off the stock clutch and is time to replace it. I just wanna here from everone and see what there opinions are on the clutches. Im looking for something that will most importanly grip like a mother and have as litte chatter as possible. I was thinkin a RAM but lets see what you guys think.

I love me my McLeod Single disk kevlar/organic and new flywheel. It doesn't chatter at all, hasn't flinched at a single shift, and was cheaper than most of the others. McLeod's the only way to go.

Off of my mcLeod power trip, however, Spec Stage IIIs are generally pretty good (couple quality control issues....).

Additionally, RAM clutches are also very good. Just judging things demographically, I odn't believe they're the most popular - I think that title goes to Spec.

Conclusively, I don't think you'd go wrong with either one depending on what your plans are.

I just did a RAM Powergrip Stage III over the weekend...it does have a little chatter, but it is easily controllable. I still have about 300 miles to go on break-in, so I'll have to see if it goes away. As of right now, I'm very, very happy with this clutch. The pedal pressure is *slightly* more than stock, but it grips so very well. They say it is good up through heads/cam, but right now, I'm just at bolt-ons (headers, ported TB, lid, FTRA, tuning, etc.).

So far I have had no problems with my McLeod Street Twin. Grips hard, drives easy, and chatters very little if any.

spec is by far the most problematic of them all the only cool thing about it, is supose to be the fact that they ussually have no problem replacing defective models sold but hey i will soon find out if that is true or not.

McLeod has had their fair share of problems. Just ask the guys who used them back in 99-late 00. I've had no problems with my SPEC. The McLeod street twin is what $1000+? Thats crazy.

Got a RAM 980 VDS system with aluminum flywheel. I love it. Almost no chatter, grips like a ****, and almost stock pedal manners. And since its SFI approved and rated to 700hp, I'm guessing that it will hold up well to what I plan on throwing at it.

I ordered this clutch on Friday from TByrne. Its on a 2 - 3 week backorder.
Got it with the Billet Flywheel & Adj. Master for 780.
I also picked up a new pilot bearing and slave cylinder from GMPartsdirect.com.

I can't wait.

Yeah... what he said! Best part is, pedal is very close to stock and street driving is a piece of cake! Couldn't be happier. I was going to buy a McLeod until I tested someone else's pedal...

I too have the McLeod single disk (organic/kevlar) and it has been pretty awesome. You can slip it or dump it with no probs and mine only chatters if it has gotten really hot and then I try to go back to "street driving."

I also am running the McLeod organic/kevlar steel fly & master. No problems grabs good,no chatter. Very streetable, I think I'll go a little more aggresive next clutch.
